2026 Courses: adjustments related to the situation in Montgellafrey
The Montgellafrey road, historically used by cyclists during the Triathlon de la Madeleine, was affected this winter by a major landslide.
We are closely monitoring the situation with the Department, the local municipalities and the Prefecture, but at this stage, there is no guarantee that the road will be safely reopened for the summer.
In addition, construction work is currently underway on the upper bike transition area in Saint‑François‑Longchamp (balneotherapy sector), which requires us to reorganize our finish area.
To ensure the event can take place in good conditions, we have therefore adjusted the courses and relocated the race site to the Place de la Madeleine and inside the Saint‑François‑Longchamp Tourist Office.
We wanted to share this information with full transparency, as the 2026 edition requires several adjustments that are beyond our control.

🚴 Impact on the bike courses
The new routes are ready and available for you below.
The bike courses will therefore follow the Col de la Madeleine road up to the resort of Saint‑François‑Longchamp, instead of the Montgellafrey road, which is currently closed.
The impact varies depending on the distance:
- Distance S-1200: very limited impact
- Distance L-3400: very limited impact
- Distance M-2200:
- → new course: 46.5 km and 2,000 m elevation gain
- → previous course: 53.5 km and 2,200 m elevation gain
The spirit of the Triathlon de la Madeleine remains intact: a demanding, authentic course that stays true to the event’s DNA, while ensuring an optimal level of safety for all participants.
🏃 Impact on the run course
Good news: no significant changes. The distance and elevation gain remain the same.
Thank you for your understanding and your trust in this particular context.
We are doing everything we can to deliver a 2026 edition that meets your expectations.
Best regards,
The Triathlon de la Madeleine Organising Team
