Start access

How to access the start of the Madeleine’s Triathlon

WARNING : NO BIB WILL BE GIVEN AT THE START AREA, AT SAINT-RÉMY-DE-MAURIENNE!

When you got your bib and leave your stuff in the “HIGH” bike park (T2) at Saint-François-Longchamp 1650, you will have to join the start area / swim area at Saint-Rémy-de-Maurienne.
You have to do this transfer on your own. You can do it by bike or by car for those who have accompanying persons. Either way, the ride should take you in-between 30 and 45 min.

ACCESS BY BIKE:

The best way is to go down by bike on the Distance S-1200 bike course with your wetsuit in a bag, as normally done on this kind of event.

  • From the “HIGH” bike park at Saint François Longchamp, start to go down to MONTGELLAFREY in front of the helicopter drop zone
  • 6,5k in, you will go by Montgellafrey
  • 5k of vertiginous descent later, you will enter the village of NOTRE-DAME-DU-CRUET, which you will go through for 1k.
  • 1k after the village of NOTRE-DAME-DU-CRUET, at the roundabout of Champ de Foireau, take a right on the D76A to EPIERRE-ALBERTVILLE-CHAMBÉRY
  • At the end of this road, take a left to SAINT-RÉMY-DE-MAURIENNE
  • You then go by the railway, the RD 1006, the river « l’Arc » and the highway A43
  • At the roundabout, take a right to SAINT-RÉMY-DE-MAURIENNE-Centre
  • 700m left before arriving to the “Camping du Lac bleu”, where the start is at.

This course will be indicated with those panels:

CAR ACCESS:

In this case, you won’t be able to drive on the course detailed just above as the road in-between Montgellafrey and Saint-François-Longchamp will be closed to cars. If you want to go down by car, you will have to go down from Saint-François-Longchamp to La Chambre by the RD 213, the main road of the Madeleine’s pass:

  • From the participant parking lot go down to the Madeleine’s place to join the RD 213, to LA CHAMBRE
  • Stay on the RD 213 all the way to La Chambre
  • At the end of the road, take a right to EPIERRE-ALBERTVILLE-CHAMBÉRY (D76)
  • After having crossed the river Bugeon, at the roundabout of Champ de Foire, go straight on the D76A to EPIERRE-ALBERTVILLE-CHAMBÉRY
  • At the end of the road, take a left to SAINT-RÉMY-DE-MAURIENNE
  • You then go by the railway, the RD 1006, the river « l’Arc » and the highway A43
  • At the roundabout, take a right to SAINT-RÉMY-DE-MAURIENNE-Centre
  • 700m left before arriving to the “Camping du Lac bleu”, where the start is at.
